Meet the Doctors
Sandra Lee Armstrong, DDS
Dr. Sandra Armstrong is a 1988 graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch in Houston, Texas. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Armstrong attended a pediatric dental residency program at the University of Texas Health Center at Houston. She received intensive oncology training at MD Anderson Hospital, special patient training at Richmond State School, hematology and AIDS management at Gulf States Hematology Clinic, and pediatric medicine and anesthesiology at Hermann Hospital. Dr. Armstrong served on the Cranial Malformation team in Houston, and at Cook's Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, TX.
Trained in the full spectrum of pediatric and adolescent dentistry, Dr. Armstrong is also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Society of Dentistry for Children, American Society of Anesthesiology, the Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association. Throughout her career she has served as a dental consultant for Proctor and Gamble, Omnii Pharmaceuticals, and other manufacturers as they develop and provide products to aid in the prevention of dental disease for children.
Dr. Armstrong is a strong supporter of her community residing on the Board of Directors for Williams-Pyro. Williams-Pyro was established following 9/11 to provide for fallen firefighters when they or their families are in need. Williams-Pyro has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for those brave heroes who so honorably risk their lives to help our citizens. Dr. Armstrong also donates her time to Save a Smile providing no cost dental care to children in need, mission trips to Mexico to care for orphans, and various other philanthropic causes.
Dr. Armstrong is the genuine West Texas girl. With a blend of spirit and an extensive professional education, she excels in the profession of children’s dentistry. Being from the Lone Star State, she’s a natural at hospitality, valuing most the gift of relationship, which makes her a perfect choice for the young and/or anxious dental patient.
Giggles & Grins Pediatric Dentistry is like no other dental office and rests in the proud city of Southlake, Texas. Dr. Armstrong hung her shingle in the Metroplex in 1991. She developed a “sports” centered practice which couldn’t be more suiting for the child athletes and participants who homestead in Southlake and surrounding cities. Her attention to detail is fascinating and can be witnessed by her office environment created for her by Thiel and Thiel, a local architecture/decorating firm.
It’s not just her office that makes Dr. Armstrong the choice of her peers as an outstanding Pediatric Dentist. She is consistently on the road pioneering a new and better way to provide preventive pain free dentistry. She is tireless in acquiring the latest in dental technology to better the overall health of those for whom she cares. Board Certified in the specialty of pediatric dentistry, Dr. Armstrong is outstanding in her field and thus was chosen to be Grant Reviewer for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's Healthy Smiles Healthy Children coalition. Amy Watts, DDS, MS
Dr. Amy Watts was born in Bryan, Texas and grew up just south of Fort Worth. An Aggie from day one, she attended Texas A&M University where she completed her undergraduate degree in three and a half years and graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Biomedical Science in December of 2001. Dr. Watts continued her education by attending dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She graduated magna cum laude in May 2006, finishing 5th out of 81 students. Dr. Watts received many awards during her time in dental school including multiple scholarships, Dean's List, and the award for excellence in clinical dentistry. In May 2006, she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society.
Her educational journey then led her to Columbus, Ohio where she was very fortunate to work with many nationally known and very experienced faculty at The Ohio State University/Nationwide Children's Hospital. During her residency, Dr. Watts received extensive training in every aspect of pediatric dentistry including in-house hospital call, dental trauma, and medically compromised patients. Her expertise is her skill for managing anxious patients utilizing the art and science of oral sedation as well as treating patients under general anesthesia. Following a 24 month residency, Dr. Watts received a Master of Science Degree in Dentistry as well as her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Watts is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a voluntary multidisciplinary process which is specialty specific in the field of Pediatric Dentistry. Her achievement to be a Diplomate demonstrates her expertise and superior clinical outcomes for the pediatric dental care she provides. Dr. Watts continually strives to learn the latest in technique and treatment modalities and remains at the forefront of evidence-based dentistry.
Dr. Watts is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, International Association of Dental Traumatology, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Greater Dallas Pediatric Dental Society and the Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
When she is not in the office, you’ll find Dr. Watts and her husband, Dane, at various sporting events and activities with their son, Evan, and their daughter, Ava. Dr. Watts loves to be outdoors, fishing as a family, sports, travel, and most of all the Aggies. WHOOP!
